Here’s our latest piece, A Dozen Tones.
I started with an interesting ostinato of twelve different notes and loved the sound of it doubled in octaves. We then created several percussion palettes to create rhythm tracks that played well with the repeated pattern. I also utilized old samples I had made of my prepared piano for more texture. Over that, I improvised some chords following the twelve tone pattern to create a melodic idea.
We quickly created a video using some of Final Cut’s fun textures (there were serendipitously 12) to give it some color and movement. Hope you enjoy!
